Taberna Seca is a Portuguese village with 121 inhabitants according to the 2011 Census, in the parish and municipality of Castelo Branco (until 1997 it belonged to the parish of Benquerenças).

It is located a few kilometers from Castelo Branco and even closer to the Ocreza river, a tributary of the Tagus. It organizes popular festivals a week after Easter (in honor of St. Paschal) and on the 15th of August (in honor of St. Teresinha).

It has a church, a social center, a recreational club, a hunting and fishing association, an 11-a-side football field and a 5-a-side football field. The story goes that at the beginning of the last century, when this site was founded, the nearby farmers, At the end of the working day, they went to Taberna Seca to drink and used up all the alcoholic drinks available in the village, hence the name of the town.
