Salgueiro do Campo is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Castelo Branco, with an area of 30.34 km² and 775 inhabitants (2021 census). Its population density is 25.5 inhabitants/km².

It is located in the center of the municipality, surrounded by the parishes of Juncal do Campo, to the north; Sarzedas, to the west; Benquerenças to the south; and Cafede and Castelo Branco to the east. It is located 12 km from the county seat, Castelo Branco, on a slope of Monte da Penha and overlooking a valley.

The parish also includes the town of Palvarinho.

Toponymy: According to legend, the name of the Parish originates from a time when the thickets were continuous and, due to the wild beasts there, crossing them was dangerous. The muleteers, on their trips to the moor, used to gather near a fountain, the current Fonte Fria, near which there was a huge willow tree, which ended up giving the town its name.

Salgueiro do Campo is a very old village, which emerged from another that had been established here since time immemorial. Some Neolithic and Roman remains confirm that the human presence in these territories dates back several centuries before the birth of Christ.
